The Pilancones Nature Park stretches on a surface of 5,794.4 hectares, and it is located in the municipality of San Bartolome de Tirajana. The spot was declared a nature site in 1987, but in 1994 it was declared a nature park. At the same time, it is a nature reserve and special protected area for birds. The place is both a vulnerable spot in terms of biological assets (plant and bird life) and one of considerable scientific interest.
