The El Brezal Nature Reserve is a smaller nature reserve located in the municipality of Santa Maria de Guia. It fills a surface or some 100 hectares and its most significant biological asset refers to the forested areas which contribute to the balance of the microclimate and ecosystem, as well as to the several endemic and rare species of plants (such as the asparagus).
